Donald Trump has more vacation time than Barack Obama had during this time in his presidency
It’s official! Donald Trump has officially clocked more vacation time during his first six months as president than Barack Obama did.
Mark Knoller of CBS News reported that Donald Trump has a total of 41 days vacationing compared to Barack Obama’s 21 days of vacations he took during his first seven months as president.
Trump has spent the majority of his time at his Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster properties, with only one appearance at the traditional presidential vacay spot, Camp David.
Obama went back home to Chicago one time, but spent the rest of his vacay time at Camp David.
All of this talk about the amount of time Trump is spending away from the White House is important because Trump claimed that he would do what he said Obama wasn’t doing, which is to work.
Last year, during a campaign event in Hickory, North Carolina, Donald Trump told New Jersey Governor Chris Christie that he loves to work and that he would take that work ethic with him to the White House.
Trump said to Christie, “I promise you. I will not be taking very long vacations if I take ‘em at all. There’s no time for vacations…If you’re at the White House, and you have so much work to do, why do you fly so-why do you leave so much? You know, you’d think you’d want to work, work, work; straighten it out.”
Welp, Trump has spent little time working in D.C., and straightening things out. In fact, after he officially moved into the White House, Trump has spent a considerable amount of his time golfing on the weekend and keeping up mess on Twitter; which he also said he wouldn't do if he became president.
And it isn’t as if he doesn’t have anything to do. The issues surrounding Obamacare remain. Tax and immigration reform need to be done.
Russia is expanding in Syria and Afghanistan could become the next terrorists’ haven that Syria and Iraq became after the U.S. troops were removed from Iraq.
Plus, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is trying to nuke as many folks as he possibly can.
Along with those issues, there are also classified issues that we the American people may never know about.
So yeah, Trump has many things on his to do list that he apparently isn’t staying in the White House to do.
